Introduction

Ethical dilemmas arise in our everyday practice. They can be between patient and therapist on an interpersonal level, within ourselves in struggling intrapersonally, within the interdisciplinary team or institution we are working in on an interprofessional or intra-organisational realm, or even related to "hot topics" in health- or socio-political fields. For some of these dilemmas it may be very challenging to finding a solution that respects all viewpoints, values and duties of the involved persons and institutions involved. For good ethical clinical decision making all healthcare practitioners should utilise a knowledge of ethics that includes an understanding of the underlying basis for ethical principles and professional frameworks for practice.

Featured reviews
Truthfully, I was not expecting a great deal of information that I was going to learn. Boy, was I wrong.  I consider myself a great therapist, but the level of detail into bioethics and thought provocation on principles within bioethics challenged the ways I perceive my caseload, and how I must address potential conflicts coming forward. Not addressing these objectively will ultimately harm the patient, but also my career. Ethics should be taught in every curriculum beyond a standard lecture or two. This course was significant in adding to my awareness of ethics beyond "do no harm." Very happy overall!
