Jason Giesbrecht is a seasoned healthcare leader and physiotherapist with a successful career spanning over 26 years. His diverse experience spans across multiple healthcare sectors, including rehabilitation, primary care, mental health /substance use, acute care, long-term care, assisted living, community care, and more.

Throughout his career, Jason has held a variety of senior roles in both public and private healthcare sectors including as a Regional Director, Executive Director, Health Services Administrator, and Chief Operating Officer. His entrepreneurial ventures include co-founding PhysioFITT, a mobile physiotherapy company that integrates technology into physiotherapy, offering accessible in-home and online services in British Columbia, Canada. He’s also the principal consultant at RehabLeadership.com, a global platform providing leadership training and support to rehabilitation professionals. His thoughts and insights are also shared through his popular blog, PhysioFuturist.com, which explores the future of physiotherapy through the lens of technological advancements.

Committed to lifelong learning and education, Jason is an established academic, teaching in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of British Columbia, and Fiji National University. Here, he leads graduate-level courses focusing on leadership in rehabilitation. His partnerships with numerous academic institutions across Western Canada, the South Pacific, and the Middle East demonstrate his dedication to fostering applied management training and leadership development.

Jason’s interests extend to global healthcare development. He has led health system improvement projects in Central America and the Middle East, applying his extensive leadership experience and practical knowledge to these initiatives.

Jason brings practical firsthand leadership experience to leadership development and facilitation. With diverse real-world leadership know-how, he is able to translate theoretical leadership concepts into no-nonsense solutions for leaders struggling with day to day challenges. Jason has facilitated numerous leadership and emotional intelligence workshops, co-authored a number of e-books on leadership, and has been published in a well-respected peer-reviewed medical journal.

In terms of qualifications, Jason holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Saskatchewan. He also has a Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta and a Graduate Certificate in Health System Leadership from Royal Roads University. He’s a certified EQ-i/EQ360 Practitioner and an Achieve Global Leadership trainer.

Beyond his professional life, Jason is an avid adventurer, often found enjoying the Canadian backcountry, participating in outdoor activities such as hiking, running, sailing, and fishing in Central America, always cherishing quality time spent with his family.
