Introduction
Femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) or hip impingement is a painful hip condition that can cause restrictions in range of motion, stiffness and functional limitations in daily living or sports-related activities. Femoroacetabular impingement is associated with variations in the morphology of the hip joint, which limit the space between the head of the femur and the acetabulum. This reduction in space causes friction. Physiotherapy is recommended for individuals with femoroacetabular impingement syndrome, either following surgery or as conservative management. Both approaches have good outcomes, and patients are able to return to normal activities.
