Introduction

Around one in ten people who contract coronavirus (COVID-19) will experience long-term consequences, otherwise known as Long COVID. Long COVID is the umbrella term used for the wide range of symptoms reported in patients with issues related to COVID-19 that last for 12 weeks or more. These symptoms involve many different body systems. A better understanding of the underlying pathologies and the impact of the disease on individuals and their functioning is needed in order to best guide our physiotherapy management of Long COVID. Due to the heterogeneous population, the wide range of symptoms reported and the lack of sufficient evidence, interventions for the physiotherapy management of Long COVID are still highly debated and should be individualised and risk-stratified.

The purpose of this course is to increase your knowledge of Long COVID, its debilitating impact and the latest evidence on its physiotherapy management.

This is a wonderfully put-together course, that for me strikes the balance on giving a summary of all the clinical information on Long COVID (what we know so far) but highlighting the need to the forefront the lived experience of people living with Long COVID, as Darren himself does so well. Great job! I can highly recommend this, as somebody who is involved in physiotherapy education on a daily basis.

Great course and very accessible for me as a student, soon to be graduate. Really useful information and resources that I can carry across to my different rotations as well as friends, family, and people I encounter in day to day life.

Having a professional that has had COVID-19, allows him to talk about what he knows in a scientific view but also in a personal view, and as we know both of these perspectives allow for better understanding and therefore a better action plan, on these types of conditions, and also showing instruments of assessment that can be used in practice

This course has provided me with confidence going into a new long COVID clinic that I didn't have before. It provides information about what is known and not known about the consequences of living with long COVID. It provides a forum to ask questions free from judgement to improve my skills in managing this condition.

I highly recommend this course with Darren Brown on Long Covid. After taking this course you will feel more confident speaking with your patients about Long Covid in regards to what we do and do not yet know about living with Long Covid. As a clinician, you will also feel more confident managing people with Long Covid from your treatment approach to measuring their outcomes.
