Introduction

Research has provided many theories regarding how the ankle-foot complex functions in weight-bearing and non-weight-bearing activities. Some of these theories are outdated, and others are in need of further investigation. When assessing a patient, it is important to consider why and what you are testing and the clinical significance of these tests. This course will review the different models of foot function, clinically relevant tests for the ankle foot complex and the aims of management.

Aims

The aim of the course is to introduce the different models of foot function and the clinical significance when prescribing or referring for foot orthotics.
