Lucio Naccarella is an Associate Professor in the Evaluation and Implementation Science Unit, at the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health, at the University of Melbourne. Lucio has focussed on supporting health system changes through his work: building evaluation capability within public sector organisations; evaluating health workforce models of care and development; and evaluating population health, health literacy and professional development initiatives. Lucio has published as first author in peer-reviewed journals and as part of project teams over 80 publications and 90 reports. Lucio also teaches in the University of Melbourne Master of Public Health Program – Health Program Evaluation and supervises and mentors Research Capstone students to plan, develop, conduct and publish evaluation and implementation science research projects. As a health services researcher, Lucio has used implementation science principles, theories, models and frameworks to facilitate the adoption of evidence into practice across multiple healthcare priority areas, including aged care, primary care, health literacy, and suicide prevention.
