It was a great, all-encompassing course for managing the acute amputation patient. It increases proactive management of phantom limb pain, falls, and psychological coping with limb loss. I will be taking these suggestions back to my daily work on an acute care floor to improve patient outcomes throughout their rehab journeys.

The course discusses the difficulties we face with amputees and how we can avoid these difficulties by communicating with patients before and after amputations and giving them the proper advice and exercises.

This course is focused on appropriate treatment before, during and after the amputation procedure. Physio can learn about gait training and efficient prosthetics and become aware of post-surgery care.
