Introduction

Snapping hip syndrome and trochanteric bursitis are two hip conditions that physiotherapists may encounter in clinical practice. In order to differentiate between these and other hip conditions, the clinician needs to have a clear understanding of their clinical presentation and pathophysiology. Conservative management is typically considered prior to surgical intervention. A comprehensive physiotherapy assessment is necessary to ensure that clinicians select the appropriate therapeutic strategies for each patient.
