Introduction
De Quervain’s Tenosynovitis is classified as radial-sided pain at the wrist and the base of the thumb. This condition is relatively common, affecting 1.3 percent of women and 0.3 percent of men. Physiotherapists play a valuable role in managing De Quervain’s, using their expertise in rehabilitation to improve outcomes in patients with this condition. In this course, Kate Thorn reviews the clinically relevant anatomy, discusses management and highlights important aspects of splinting and strengthening.

At the end of this course you will be able to:
- identify the relevant anatomical structures involved in De Quervain’s Tenosynovitis
- categorise the aetiology and epidemiology of De Quervain’s Tenosynovitis
- describe the clinical assessment of an individual with De Quervain’s Tenosynovitis
- design an appropriate evidence-based management strategy for an individual with De Quervain’s Tenosynovitis based on case scenarios
- differentiate three red flags to consider in patients with De Quervain’s Tenosynovitis
