Introduction
Whether you are a clinician, a researcher, or both, you may be interested in sharing your findings at a conference. The first step to sharing your work is submitting a conference abstract. This course is applicable to clinicians, early career researchers and even seasoned researchers who would like a reminder of the fundamental elements of presenting a conference abstract. It introduces the basics of writing a conference abstract, highlighting key considerations, common mistakes and how to apply deductive reasoning when presenting your findings.

At the end of this course you will be able to:
- identify the purpose behind a conference abstract
- list the key components of different types of abstracts
- identify common mistakes during the writing process and how to avoid them
- discuss the concept of deductive reasoning in abstract writing
Target audience
This course is aimed at rehabilitation professionals, students and assistants including but not limited to Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Rehabilitation Doctors, Rehabilitation Nurses, Prosthetists, Orthotists, Psychologists, Audiologists, Dietetics, Social Workers. Community Health Workers, Nurses or Medical Doctors interested in this subject are also invited to participate.
