Introduction

Most rehabilitation practitioners confidently manage early post-injury issues like pain, swelling, and range of motion deficits. However, bridging the gap between low-load therapeutic exercises and the high-force, high-velocity demands of sport can be challenging. This course provides evidence-supported frameworks for integrating plyometric training into rehabilitation programmes. You will explore how to progress athletes from foundational jump training through to true plyometrics.

Learning outcomes

At the end of this course you will be able to:

  • differentiate true plyometrics from jump training based on three specific criteria
  • describe peak force and rate of force development in the context of rehabilitation
  • discuss a staged plyometric progression framework from early rehabilitation through to return to sport

Target audience

This course is aimed at Physiotherapy and Physical Therapy clinicians, students and assistants. Other interested professionals such as athletic trainers, occupational therapists, nurses or medical doctors interested in this subject are also invited to participate.
