Professor Mike Lambert is a Senior Research Scholar at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. His research interests include injury surveillance in rugby and monitoring fitness and fatigue to improve performance and reduce the risk of injury. He has worked with BokSmart, a programme designed to reduce injury in rugby, since it started in 2009. The ongoing research programme with BokSmart has produced over 50 publications which contribute to the evidence-based decision-making of the programme. He is also the editor of the South African Journal of Sports Medicine and editor of the free weekly newsletter Athletic Performance Insider for practitioners covering latest research, practical tips, industry trends and personal interviews
