Physiopedia is the world’s largest free resource for physiotherapy knowledge, used by 33.8 million people across more than 200 countries. Physiopedia Plus is our subscription platform for continuing professional development, delivering accredited online courses to physiotherapists and rehabilitation professionals worldwide.

Our courses are built around video. Instructors from across the profession record their teaching, and our media team turns that raw footage into the polished, accessible video that sits at the heart of every course. We are a small, distributed and genuinely global organisation, and you will be working with colleagues and contributors across several continents and time zones.

The role

We are looking for an excellent video editor.

That is the job. You will take instructors’ raw recordings and turn them into finished course videos: editing, audio, building the slides that carry the teaching, transcription and subtitling, and preparing everything for publication. You will work as part of a small team of experienced editors, and you will be trusted to make your own calls. Whether a recording can be saved. Whether an image is ours to use. Whether a slide is doing any work at all.

This role is for a physiotherapist or health care professional.

Our content is clinical, and an editor who understands what an instructor is actually describing makes better decisions at every stage: which points deserve a slide, whether an anatomical image is right, when a section is not saying what it thinks it is saying. We have decided that clinical understanding is not something we want to work around, so a physiotherapy or rehabilitation qualification is a requirement for this role.

If you trained as a physio and found your way into video, this job was written for you. We know there are not many of you. We would very much like to find you.

The leadership option

There is more here for the right person, if you want it.

We would like this role to grow into leading our media team of experienced editors, and owning the standards they work to. That means allocating work and managing the queue, keeping our production documentation current, being the decision point on rights and permissions, and looking for the parts of the process that could work better.

This is genuinely optional. If you are an outstanding editor with no interest in managing anyone, tell us and apply anyway. If you want to step into it from day one, that works too. If you would rather grow into it over six or twelve months, that is probably the most realistic version of all. We will shape the role around the person we find.

Who you will work with

You will work alongside experienced video editors based internationally, with our Education Director on course content and scheduling, with the course creation team who receive your finished work, and with the instructors who record it.

What you will do

Edit course videos

• Take videos through the full production process, from raw footage to a finished, subtitled, published video
• Build slides that support the teaching: clear, accurate, and consistent with our house style
• Source, create and licence images, including making the judgement calls about what we can and cannot use
• Take on the difficult ones: poor audio, instructors who have not followed their own material, tight turnarounds

Uphold the standard

• Work to our video editing SOP and house style, and tell us when either is wrong
• Use AI thoughtfully. We actively encourage it where it makes the work better or faster, but never as a substitute for your own judgement. You are accountable for everything that reaches a learner
• Check clinical content carefully. Our learners will take what they see as correct

If you take on the leadership side

• Lead and support the team of editors, allocate work and manage capacity
• Own our production documentation and keep it current
• Be the decision point on copyright, licensing and permission requests
• Improve how we work, particularly the manual and repetitive parts

What we are looking for

Essential

• A physiotherapy or health qualification
• Strong, current video editing skills, with expert-level Adobe Premiere Pro
• Solid audio editing: levelling, noise reduction, compression, and knowing when a recording cannot be saved
• A genuine eye for slide design, typography and visual clarity
• Experience with transcription and subtitling workflows
• A working understanding of copyright, Creative Commons licensing and image rights
• Comfortable using AI in your work, and equally comfortable judging when its output is wrong. We use it, we encourage it, and we expect a person behind every decision
• Excellent written English, and comfort working in UK English
• Highly organised and genuinely self-directing. We are a small, distributed team and nobody will be watching over your shoulder

Desirable

• Experience producing educational, medical or scientific content
• Experience leading or coordinating a small remote team, or an appetite to learn
• Motion graphics or template-building experience
• Awareness of accessibility standards for video and captions

We recognise this is an unusual combination and that the pool of people who have both is small. If you are a physiotherapist whose editing is strong but self-taught, or whose experience is in a related area, please still get in touch and tell us what you can do. We would rather hear from you and talk it through than have you rule yourself out.

Practical details

Location: Fully remote. You can be based anywhere in the world. You will need some working overlap with a team spread across several time zones
Hours: Around 16-24 hours per week, with flexibility on how you arrange them
