Animal physiotherapists are now a recognised part of the wider team that assesses and treats equine athletes and their riders. Physiotherapists do not need to identify a pathoanatomical diagnosis to develop management plans for their equine patients. They do, however, need to be able to conduct a thorough assessment, so that they can identify any dysfunctions or impairments that may be contributing to a horse's specific problem.
The aim of this course is to provide you with a comprehensive framework for assessing equine patients.
This course is made up of videos, reading, discussions and a final quiz. The course content is split into the following sections:
- Process of Assessment
- Subjective Equine Assessment Reading
- Video Presentation
- Objective Equine Assessment Reading
This course is aimed at Physiotherapy and Physical Therapy clinicians, students and assistants. Other interested professionals such as athletic trainers, occupational therapists, nurses or medical doctors interested in this subject are also invited to participate.

I love Physioplus courses. The information provided is extensive and comprehensive. The international aspect adds more information and understanding outside of my small bubble in my country.
