In this course, Deborah Riczo will discuss diastasis recti abdominis (DRA) and pelvic floor dysfunction. The signs, symptoms, assessment and treatment options for these two conditions will be covered. It is pertinent for any physiotherapist involved in the management of patients with pelvic girdle dysfunction to have a good understanding of these two conditions.
This course aims to explain the anatomy behind diastasis recti abdominis and pelvic floor dysfunction, the related signs and symptoms, and testing for diastasis recti abdominis. It also discusses when referral for pelvic floor muscle dysfunction is warranted.
This course is made up of videos, reading, discussions and a final quiz. The course content is split into the following sections:
