Introduction
There are many blood disorders that can affect different systems of the body and have a significant impact on individual well being and their ability to participate in daily activities. In order to work effectively with affected individuals, health care practitioners need to understand the physiology and pathophysiology of blood as well as the related common blood disorders that can affect the child through to adulthood. In this programme, Alaa Kora reviews the main paediatric-related blood disorders, Von Willebrand Disease, Haemophilia, Thalassaemia and Sickle Cell Anaemia and provides practical advice for physiotherapists working with both children and adults experiencing these conditions.
