Procedures and techniques for infection prevention and control are essential for good community health, to limit healthcare-acquired infections as well as control the general spread of epidemics and pandemics. A key component of this is basic hand hygiene which forms the foundation of infection control. The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, masks, gowns and goggles allows healthcare personal to treat patients with communicable diseases while protecting themselves and others. The procedures for putting on (donning) and taking off (doffing) of PPE needs to follow specific sequencing and techniques in order to ensure best infection control and prevention practices.
This course aims to provide insight into infection prevention and control and specifically reviews procedures and policies for hand hygiene and personal protective equipment

Physiotherapist, United Kingdom
As always, Physiopedia provided a course full of up-to-date information which is appropriate to the clinical setting. In this particular instance, this was the first comprehensive resource I found which covered all aspects relative to physios working throughout this pandemic and provided fantastic guidance in such uncertain times. The fact that the information was updated regularly in keeping with WHO information also meant that I have returned to the information time and again over the past few months.
An excellently prepared course!! I'm no longer ignorant about the right way to wear PPE, and there is also an increased sense of responsibility to protect myself as well as my patients and the larger community by doing it right to decrease the spread of HAIs
