In paediatric telehealth, the physiotherapist/physical therapist can reach a wide range of paediatric populations specifically those with barriers to access such as physical location, limited resources, or during social distancing. Telehealth in the pediatric population helps parents to continue therapy even if they have busy schedules, multiple children, or if their child is immunocompromised. It also allows the child to have therapy in the environment of their own home and provides an opportunity for parents to become actively involved with the therapy provision.
This course will give you an overview on where to start, what to consider, and will share practical advice in conducting a paediatric telehealth session.
This course is made up of videos, reading, forum posts and a final quiz. The course content is split into the following sections:

This is my first course in Physioplus. I really like how organized and smooth the flow of the lectures are. I highly appreciate how articulate and thorough Dr. Christensen is when sharing her knowledge and information. Watching this lecture, I didn't get distracted as I would usually be in class. It is a very concise and informative course.

The Introduction to Telehealth and Pediatrics course is very helpful especially to those who are just starting with telehealth and would want to have a brief background about what happens inside a telehealth session with pediatric patients.
TRACY AGATHA B. PALAFOX
This course is very enlightening, especially in this COVID-19 pandemic where all the norms in clinical settings are being challenged. It really helps lessen the anxiety from the sudden changes we need to adapt to. This course is really in-depth with how a successful Pediatric telehealth consultation goes; from preparation to self-reflection. Dr. Sierra also shared a lot of tips on how you can be professional and approachable at the same time. I recommend this to all people interested in pediatrics or people having doubts about telehealth or if you are just want to expand your knowledge.

This is a great short course for anyone starting to use telehealth/ teletherapy in Paediatrics. I have been using telehealth to deliver Paediatric Physiotherapy for the past 5 months. I really did not think it would work as well as it has. This course puts things in perspective and takes the fear away. Thanks!
