Vestibular rehabilitation is an effective, evidence-based approach for assessing and treating individuals experiencing vertigo, dizziness, motion sensitivity, compromised gaze stability and postural instability. The most common cause of vertigo arising from the vestibular system, Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) can be effectively treated, often with as little as one 10 minute procedure. Vestibular rehabilitation exercise programming is effective in managing the symptoms of unilateral and bilateral vestibular impairments. The role of vestibular rehabilitation in the management of Post Concussion Syndrome, as well as sensory integration dysfunctions, has also been growing rapidly. Rehabilitation practitioners are well suited to evaluating and implementing vestibular rehabilitation interventions and exercise based strategies in this diverse patient population.
Upon completion of these courses, participants will be confident in assessing and implementing basic, effective treatment interventions in individuals experiencing symptoms related to vestibular system dysfunctions.
This programme will cover the following topics:
- Introduction to Vestibular Rehabilitation
- Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo
- Vestibular Pathologies
- Vestibular Assessment
- Vestibular Treatment
- Assignment Submission
