Introduction
Vestibular disturbance is a significant issue globally, with 80 percent of people aged over 65 years experiencing dizziness. Individuals who have vestibular impairment generally have problems with gaze and motion stability, as well as balance and postural control deficits. Vestibular rehabilitation is an evidence-based management approach that aims to address these impairments. As will be discussed in this course, there is a range of exercises that can be included in a vestibular rehabilitation programme, but each programme should be tailored to the client's condition and impairments.
Aims
The aim of this course is to introduce vestibular rehabilitation by describing the types of exercises that should be included in a management plan and to discuss the evidence for this type of rehabilitation.
