Introduction
Dancers have incredible endurance, cardiovascular fitness, flexibility, and jaw-dropping strength. Having a dancer walk into your clinic can be daunting. They often have high expectations, and you may have to learn a whole new language in terms of dance terminology, movements, and techniques. Treating this client group can, therefore, be both challenging and rewarding. This programme provides insight into the dancer, how they move, and how they use their body. You will learn about the dancer's foot and ankle in detail—from the anatomy and biomechanics to the pointe shoe, the pre-screening process, common injuries, and the management and prevention of these injuries.
