Introduction

Mental health is every physiotherapist's business. As part of the bio-psycho-social model, mental health concerns aren't limited to psychiatric diagnoses but accompany conditions like diabetes, stroke, cancer, chronic pain, and childhood disabilities. Physiotherapists' long-term client relationships position them uniquely to identify and address mental health aspects, leading to growing use of physiotherapy approaches for severe mental health problems. This course aims to enhance physiotherapists' understanding of mental health integration across diverse settings and patient populations.

At the end of this course you will be able to:

  • justify the role of physiotherapy in mental health care
