Introduction
Practising wound care can be complicated. There are many factors to consider when assessing and treating a wound. Some of these factors are within the control of the rehabilitation professional, while others are not. There are three classifications of factors which can affect wound healing: (1) intrinsic, (2) extrinsic, and (3) iatrogenic. By gaining an understanding of these key factors, the rehabilitation professional can adjust the plan of care to obtain the best possible healing outcome. This course discusses these three factors.
