In his work as a physiotherapist, Zafer Altunbezel focuses on the interdisciplinary rehabilitation of survivors of war and torture. He has worked as a field physiotherapist within leading international humanitarian organisations in the Middle East. His main field of interest is the biopsychosocial management of chronic pain in traumatised individuals. He has a Master’s degree in physiotherapy, where his research focused on the factors leading to central sensitisation in traumatised refugees with chronic pain.
