Introduction
Proper nutrition plays an important role in the performance, recovery and overall well-being of athletes. As they aim for success and push their bodies to the limit, athletes have unique dietary needs that require careful attention and consideration. Sports clinicians are key players in supporting athletes’ health and performance and they need to be knowledgeable about nutrition. Understanding the interplay between macronutrients, micronutrients, hydration, and the timing of intake can greatly impact an athlete’s ability to achieve their goals. By staying up to date with the latest research and guidelines in sports nutrition, clinicians can provide tailored and evidence-based recommendations to athletes. This course, therefore, reviews the basics of sports nutrition.
