Introduction

Effective patient-clinician communication contributes to accurate diagnoses, better patient adherence, and improved clinical outcomes. Patient-centred medicine emphasises an individualised biopsychosocial approach rather than focusing solely on biomedical information. This programme develops your skills in patient-centred communication and conducting medical interviews using the Calgary-Cambridge Model, an evidence-based framework for comprehensive medical interviews. On completing this programme, you will understand the communication process and medical interview structure, including how to incorporate biomedical and psychosocial investigations, facilitate treatment planning, manage patient uncertainties, and adapt your approach to individual patients and cultural contexts.

This course is aimed at Physiotherapy and Physical Therapy clinicians, students and assistants. Other interested professionals such as athletic trainers, occupational therapists, nurses or medical doctors interested in this subject are also invited to participate.
