Introduction

Rehabilitation and assistive technology help people maintain independence, optimise functioning and participate in meaningful activities. With ageing populations, improved survival rates and rising prevalence of non-communicable diseases, global demand for these services is increasing. Around one-third of the world's population requires rehabilitation services, yet a significant gap exists between need and availability. This programme provides healthcare professionals with practical knowledge about rehabilitation and assistive technology, covering what these services encompass, who delivers them, when interventions are needed, and where services are delivered. After completing this programme, you will be better prepared to identify when patients need rehabilitation support, make timely referrals, and collaborate effectively with rehabilitation professionals to improve patient outcomes.
