THIM University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands is breaking new ground by formally integrating Physiopedia Plus (Plus) courses into their academic credit structure, demonstrating how digital learning resources can become core components of accredited physiotherapy education.
THIM has taken the pioneering step of incorporating Plus courses into their elective programme where students earn formal academic credits through the platform. Using the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System, the standard framework for measuring student workload across European higher education, students can earn between five and thirty ECTS credits during their sixth semester. At THIM, each ECTS credit represents approximately 28 hours of student work, making this a substantial recognition of Plus as a legitimate academic resource.

Rather than treating Plus purely as supplementary material, THIM has formally recognised the platform’s educational rigour by awarding academic credits for course completion.
