Introduction

Neuroscience is the scientific discipline that examines the nervous system: the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves. It investigates how the nervous system is structured and functions, how it developed over time, and what happens when it is injured or is dysfunctional. Applying neuroscience in clinical practice enables improved insight and understanding of patient behaviour, cognition, motor control and learning, and sensory perception. This programme provides foundational knowledge of clinical neuroscience for rehabilitation professionals. It was designed to be completed in the presented order, as the information in each course builds upon knowledge gained in previous courses. This programme is complemented by the Neuroanatomy Programme. Together, they will help you build foundational neurology knowledge.
