Introduction

Muscle strength is crucial for stability and mobility in the musculoskeletal system. Assessing muscle strength is an integral component of the physical examination as it objectively measures a patient's physical strength and offers valuable insights into potential neurological deficits. When assessing muscle strength, clinicians must understand how to isolate each muscle and adapt the position based on the patient's presentation. This course provides detailed descriptions and demonstrations of key muscle tests for the cervical spine and upper limb and highlights several factors that can influence muscle strength.
