PAI, the Physiopedia AI Assistant, is growing every month, and the people using it are shaping how it grows. Here we share our new animation introducing PAI, what your feedback has told us, and the latest feature it has helped bring to life.
If you haven’t met PAI (the Physiopedia AI Assistant) yet, our short animation is the quickest way to see some of what it does. PAI is now used by more than 20,000 physiotherapists and physical therapists and it draws on Physiopedia’s evidence-based content, accredited courses and expert videos to help you learn, reflect and keep developing as a rehabilitation professional, wherever you are and whenever you need it.
Last month, PAI users on Physiopedia Plus (Plus) gave 281 thumbs-up and just 2 thumbs-down, over 99% positive. You also copied 639 replies and printed 43 chats to use in your practice and studies. Those numbers tell us PAI is becoming part of how you work and learn, and every rating helps us understand what is useful and what needs refining. Thank you to everyone who has taken a moment to rate a reply. Your feedback helps us keep improving PAI.
That feedback helps shape how PAI evolves, and our latest development is the clinical case simulator, which lets you work through realistic patient cases in a back-and-forth conversation. You can ask questions, test your reasoning and explore what you might do next, all in a safe learning environment. You get personalised feedback and can download a certificate for each case you successfully complete.
One of the first people to try the new clinical case simulator was Plus instructor Z Altug. As a clinician who works mainly in orthopaedics, he deliberately chose a neurology case to challenge himself. He enjoyed the conversational style and found it valuable to ask the simulator for suggested next steps.
I wish I had this as a student! – Z Altug, Plus instructor
Z sees the simulator as useful well beyond students. He believes early-career clinicians will benefit, and that experienced clinicians can use it too, particularly when they want to explore a condition they rarely or never see in their own caseload. For him, the simulator is a real confidence booster that turns learning into practical ideas.
That is exactly what we hope PAI can be for you: a supportive learning companion that helps you build knowledge and confidence, alongside your own clinical judgement and the guidance of your colleagues and mentors.
You can access PAI through your Plus membership on either desktop or mobile. If you’re new to PAI, you can try it free for 1 week with a trial Plus membership, and free full access is available in low-income countries.
PAI is improving month by month, guided by the ratings and feedback you share with us. Watch the animation, try the case simulator, and keep telling us what works so we can keep making PAI better for you.
