Skills for Action

About

When Pam qualified as a physiotherapist in South Africa 50+ years ago, the physiotherapy tools were massage, electrotherapy and exercises. PNF and Bobath were just starting to make their mark on practice, followed by Maitland mobilisation techniques. Over the years, Pam has closely followed the neuroscience of motor control and development, as well as the evidence that supports task and context oriented intervention approaches for children with movement difficulties. She adapted her practice to reflect these new insights and now has a passion for sharing these ideas.

Featured Review
From our traditional PT education, we are so used to immediately memorising and looking for pathological patterns in infants. Pam Versfeld shows in adorable and instructive videos what the normal, healthy movement of the newborn looks like - ultimately what we should always be guided by. Her calmness and clarity are able to inspire enthusiasm for paediatrics and always keep a positive outlook.
