Introduction
Limb loss and burn injuries are common causes of disability. Individuals with amputations or burn injuries often have comorbid conditions or injuries that complicate recovery and care. A person-centred care plan is essential to provide holistic and well-coordinated care throughout the rehabilitation process to optimise an individual’s function and quality of life. In this course, considerations specific to the management of persons with amputations and burn injuries are discussed.

This course aims to introduce fundamental principles when working with persons with amputations and / or burn injuries.

Target audience
This course is aimed at rehabilitation professionals, students and assistants including but not limited to Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Rehabilitation Doctors, Rehabilitation Nurses, Prosthetists, Orthotists, Psychologists, Audiologists, Dietetics, Social Workers. Community Health Workers, Nurses or Medical Doctors interested in this subject are also invited to participate.
