Introduction

There are many circumstances that can lead to amputations affecting the lower limb such as trauma in road traffic accidents and resulting from chronic diseases such as diabetes. With appropriate care, access to a prosthetic and related rehabilitation, many of these individuals can regain a high level of functioning and quality of life. The role of the physiotherapist is key in the process and this series of courses provides a comprehensive physiotherapy perspective on working with individuals with lower-limb amputations covering working with the client both before and after prosthetic prescription.

Aims

To equip a physical therapist/physiotherapist with a comprehensive knowledge of working with lower limb amputees so they can play an effective part in the multidisciplinary management of this client type.

I have been looking forward to getting a more structural outline on prosthetics rehabilitation, and I am happy that I came across this course. It was an enlightening experience for me. This course offers basic, intermediate and advanced training on lower limb management of the amputees, from pre-prosthetic to prosthetic rehabilitation. All course objectives were met. Thank you for the literature!
