This course provides a structured approach to developing comprehensive emergency and safety protocols. By identifying potential risks and organising resources in advance, business owners can respond swiftly and effectively when adverse events or crises occur. Effective emergency planning safeguards your clients and staff and strengthens the resilience of your business in challenging times.

Learning outcomes

At the end of this course you will be able to:

  • describe comprehensive emergency response procedures for a rehabilitation business, including plans for electrical safety, fire safety, medical emergencies, adverse events and evacuation plans to ensure the safety of staff, clients and visitors
  • identify at least three phases of disaster planning based on specific case scenarios in rehabilitation businesses

Target audience

This course is aimed at rehabilitation professionals, students and assistants including but not limited to Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Rehabilitation Doctors, Rehabilitation Nurses, Prosthetists, Orthotists, Psychologists, Audiologists, Dietetics, Social Workers. Community Health Workers, Nurses or Medical Doctors interested in this subject are also invited to participate.
