Introduction

This course overviews the many facets of professionalism for health professionals, both for individuals and for team members, including cultural competence, respecting the diversity of patients and team members, ethical standards, and social responsibility.

At the end of this course you will be able to:
- discuss the concepts of interprofessional collaboration and cultural competence, including their definitions, importance and strategies to develop these aspects of professionalism
- explain the impact of regulations, ethical standards, respect for your profession and social responsibility on professionalism in healthcare and ways healthcare professionals can achieve these standards
Target audience
This course is aimed at rehabilitation professionals, students and assistants including but not limited to Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Rehabilitation Doctors, Rehabilitation Nurses, Prosthetists, Orthotists, Psychologists, Audiologists, Dietetics, Social Workers. Community Health Workers, Nurses or Medical Doctors interested in this subject are also invited to participate.
