Introduction

Outcome measures are routinely used in the field of rehabilitation. Outcome measures are tools used to assess a patient’s current status. These tools should be able to detect and quantify change in a patient’s health, function or perception throughout rehabilitation and beyond. While the significance of outcome measures is acknowledged, determining the most suitable measure for a particular patient or scenario can be challenging. In this course, Benita Olivier explains how rehabilitation professionals can use the evidence-based practice process to select the most fitting outcome measure for their specific context.

This course is aimed at rehabilitation professionals, students and assistants including but not limited to Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Rehabilitation Doctors, Rehabilitation Nurses, Prosthetists, Orthotists, Psychologists, Audiologists, Dietetics, Social Workers. Community Health Workers, Nurses or Medical Doctors interested in this subject are also invited to participate.
