Introduction
Caring for a burn wound injury is complex and challenging. The wound care professional must provide effective infection prevention, oedema management, and individualised wound care to give a burn wound injury the best opportunity to heal. Wound cleansing is an important part of wound bed preparation. Unfortunately, there is not much evidence to support a particular type of wound cleansing for burn wounds. This course will discuss the best available research on burn wound cleansing solutions and cleansing recommendations.
Aims
This course aims to provide an overview of burn wound cleansing methods.
