Introduction
Sideline coverage or pitch-side management at a sports event is a unique and exciting experience. It allows sports clinicians to build a relationship of trust with their team and provides insight into mechanisms of injury. While most injuries on the field may be of low severity, there can be on-field emergencies that require rapid response and care. Clinicians covering sports events should be familiar with the type of on-field emergencies they may encounter and have a thorough knowledge of each facility's emergency action plan. This will help ensure the delivery of excellent care to athletes.
