Physiopedia’s AI Assistant will help you get answers to all of your rehabilitation-related questions quicker than ever. Here’s how you can make the most of this tool.

After logging into your Plus account, you’ll find the Physiopedia AI Assistant at the bottom right-hand corner of the page. Just click on it to open up the chat box. Here, you can type in any rehabilitation-related question you want, and it will answer you using information from Physiopedia. Remember, the more details you provide, the better the answers will be.

Here are some examples. We could ask it a general question, like, what is the ACL? The AI assistant gives us a nice quick summary describing the ACL. Right below it, you’ll see that the answer is accompanied by the sources that the information is drawn from, so it’s easy to double-check information. Notice that you can either type your next question into the text box right after your previous question, or you can click new chat. If you continue in the same conversation, the assistant will take into account the conversation so far in its replies. If you want a clean slate, just hit new chat. So let’s continue with the ACL. How does it get injured? The assistant gives us some of the main ways that the ACL gets injured, in addition to ACL injury risk factors. What about, what are the most reliable tests to diagnose an ACL tear? Provide their diagnostic properties and how to perform them. Now it gives us three tests with their diagnostic properties and the steps to perform them.

Let’s move on to something new. What outcome measures specific to occupational therapy can I use with a patient with cerebral palsy? It gives us a number of different ways an occupational therapist could measure outcomes in cerebral palsy.

We could even ask questions about conflict management. How do I respond to a colleague who is accusing me of something I have not done? It summarises some useful tips to deal with this scenario.

Finally, let’s try a question on communication. How can I communicate effectively with my patient? It gives us a list of factors to consider in effective patient communication.

The AI Assistant is also available in the Plus app, so you can access it on your phone wherever you are. Just open up the app and look for the Assistant icon on the bottom menu bar. Physiopedia’s AI Assistant is the only AI Assistant that is rehabilitation-focused, designed by rehabilitation professionals for rehabilitation professionals. It’s only available to Plus Pro and Full users, so join Plus, if you haven’t already, to enhance your clinical practice and assist your studies.
